Early Short Films
MAKE NOISE
Make Noise is a fast paced documentary about the Penn State Cheerleading Team. Specifically focusing on senior cheerleader Kylie, this film was made for COMM242 at Penn State University. It looked into what it takes to become a cheerleader, how hard they train, other activities cheerleaders must undertake (such as charity work) as well as big game performances in front of over 110,000 people and live television cameras. It was made in 2010, using a Sony DV camcorder and is my first short film!
PERFECT SUNDAY
Perfect Sunday is a short film created for a competition in The Sunday Times newspaper. It focuses on the dreary and repetitive nature of weekly workers, and how many people cram all their leisure activity almost entirely into Sunday. Perfect Sunday was shot all over London: in the Underground, inside a computer library and even on London Bridge during rush hour.
GOING BANANAS
Going Banana's is a comedic short film that was made for Leeds University Filmmaking Society. In it an adolescent suffers a severe reaction to medication, and images he is having a surreal fight with a Monkey in a public park.
This film was shot as part of a competition to make a film in less than a day, and it ended up winning the society's coveted film of the year award and audience vote award.
SURRENDER
The first narrative film project, with a requirement of using no dialogue whatsoever. An ambitious James Bond homage complete with a music video intro sequence. This short scored high marks in filmmaking class for its ambitious visuals and was the only student film to extensively use green screens and experiment with basic cgi imagery.
